Whiplash, Richard Bona and all that jazz

Whiplash is a very good film, intense but great nonetheless. A bit of OST:

At the end of last year we went to see Richard Bona – I keep smiling when I think of that night, so much fun. First of all, venue – Union Chapel in Angel, which reminded me so much of “Neverwhere” by Neil Gaiman. Secondly, Richard himself – Grammy nominated Cameroonian vocalist, bassist, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Bona established himself via some slick, funk-edged collaborations with Joe Zawinul, Michael Brecker and Bobby McFerrin. He’s since become a highly acclaimed solo artist, who’s much better live than on record: his show is a tour de force that combines his Pastorius-style bass chops with his soaring, angelic vocals, in both English and the Duala language of Cameroon.

Take me out to listen to some jazz? :)
